Privacy Notice
How we collect, use and protect the personal data of clients, enquirers and job applicants.
Before launch
This page is a structural placeholder and must be completed before launch. The site collects personal data through its enquiry form, so a compliant privacy notice is a legal requirement, not an optional page. Have a solicitor or a reputable UK GDPR template provider complete it.
What this notice must cover
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, this notice needs to set out each of the following:
- Who the data controller is, with a registered address and a contact point for data protection questions
- What personal data is collected: through the enquiry form, by telephone, during a survey, and from job applicants
- The lawful basis for each processing purpose (legitimate interests, contract, consent, legal obligation)
- Who the data is shared with: form handler, email provider, analytics, payment processor, any subcontractor
- Whether any data leaves the UK, and the safeguards if it does
- How long each category of data is kept, and why
- Data subject rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawing consent
- The right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, with a link
- Cookies and similar technologies, or a cross-reference to the cookie notice
- A date of last revision
Household staff records and DBS disclosure information carry their own handling requirements. Take advice on those specifically rather than relying on a general template.
